Li Chaiyuan picked up the chalk and wrote down the clues on the small blackboard to summarize them.
"The girl who was rescued by Runsheng Yinmeng who almost jumped off the building went to Luoxin Island Amusement Park yesterday.
In the wife-murder case file brought by Tan Wenbin, the suspect's husband, who insisted that he was just dreaming, was an employee of Luoxin Island Amusement Park.
The Zhou brothers will go to Luoxin Island Amusement Park to perform lion dance on weekends and work part-time."
The last time they had dinner with the Zhou brothers, they had said this at the dinner table.
The brothers' family conditions are not bad, at least they are people with inheritance and craftsmanship, but the family's thinking is a little stiff, ignoring that going out is not as good as at home, and the difference in prices between the two places.
The family felt that the money given was enough for the brothers to eat and drink spicy food in Jinling, and even get drunk on the side.
In fact, because the brothers are martial arts practitioners, their food consumption is much larger than that of ordinary people, and the family's living expenses are really not enough, so they have to often subsidize food expenses in some performances.
Once a certain leader in the city brought his children to Luoxin Island Amusement Park on the weekend, he was amazed by the excitement of the lion dance performance, and stepped forward to inquire about the exchange.
The leader opened his mouth and broke his leg below.
But in fact, it was such a simple thing, there was originally a friendship that had eaten together before, Lin Shuyou only needed to go to their school, sit down with the Zhou brothers and chat for a while, and he could get complete clues.
He went to fight with others inexplicably, and then traced the source step by step, successively went to the relevant leaders in charge of the selection of the program in the academy and also went to the program organizer.
Lin Shuyou, who is obviously going to do a secret investigation, can be said to have fights everywhere.
The three groups of people all left the school at about the same time in the morning, and they were all simple pieces of paper and still had free records, but Lin Shuyou's experience was the richest and tortuous.
If Lin Shuyou is replaced by Tan Wenbin, Li Chaiyuan will think that Tan Wenbin has made his intentions clear, and he deliberately goes around the corners and has to find more trouble for that hand.
But since he is a friend, Li Chaiyuan feels that he is acting in his true colors, and he works very hard.
Li Chaiyuan drew a circle on the "Luoxin Island Amusement Park" and knocked:
"Obviously, the clue trap that hand set for us is in this amusement park."
Immediately afterwards, Li Zhuiyuan's eyes fell on the three records in front of him.
"The fifth wave has already been followed by me, and the other party is Birch's form god.
There is good news and bad news.
Let's start with the bad news: we haven't received any water from the Birch Form God yet.
Let's talk about the good news: Birch feeds on dreams, and his form and spirit should have the same characteristics.
So this time,
We don't need to change the content of the script, we only need to change the title of the play."
Li Chaiyuan wrote on the blackboard: "Dream Ghost" and "Birch".
The boy picked up the blackboard and wiped off the "dream ghost" first, and then pulled out a line from each of the three lines of clues originally written on the blackboard, pointing to "Birch".
Tan Wenbin understood, with a smile on his face.
This time, unlike last time, you still need to create causal clues by yourself and others, because you can directly apply the fake clues that you and others have made with that hand.
True or false things can only be confirmed when the lid is opened, and the one who opens the lid is the river.
That hand wanted to guide himself and others to find the "dream ghost", and he and others only needed to shout to find "Birch".
Because of the mastermind behind it, it was naturally defined as controlling the evil forces behind the death.
For example, last time, Xiong Shan's team was going to fail, and his team went up, and it was the same here.
The hand that wanted to successfully pick itself out turned into sitting on the river, forced to endure the impact of the river after round.
Tan Wenbin felt that this hand was really wonderful, what is it to kill with a knife, Brother Xiaoyuan is going to use Jiang to destroy the family this time!
After thinking about it, Yin Meng nodded silently.
Lin Shuyou had just finished reading what Brother Xiaoyuan wrote, that is, he had just become familiar with the background synopsis, and he didn't fully understand it at this time, but it didn't prevent him from nodding thoughtfully, and added: "Oh~"
Runsheng said: "Xiaoyuan, you can not tell us this."
When Tan Wenbin heard this, he immediately nodded: "Yes, it's better not to tell us."
Lin Shuyou: "Yes, well, that's true."
Runsheng means that if Li Chaiyuan doesn't tell them about "Dream Ghost" and "Birch", but only needs to write out "Birch Shape", then the team will only know one "Birch Shape", except for Xiaoyuan.
The name of the script doesn't need to be changed, because there is no name in the first place, just add it, and that's it.
In this way, it is also more convenient for big guys to better promote the river.
In Runsheng's view, there is nothing wrong with being an uninformed tool.
Li Zhuyuan sat down, picked up a cloth, and wiped the chalk ash from his hand.
Runsheng was right.
In fact, I shouldn't have told them, but if I told them, it would be easy to do bad things and make things not perfect enough.
The fingertips were wiped red by the boy.
He rubbed it extra hard, because only in this way could the pain that might appear on his face be diverted.
As long as you can retaliate and go back, as long as you can ride this wave, as long as you can achieve your goals, there is nothing wrong with using your partners as tools to use and sacrifice.
Everyone was waiting for Li Chaiyuan to speak.
The young man was about to lose control of his expression, and that sense of rejection and disgust was rising rapidly in his heart.
Self-harmonious, self-harmonious, self-harmonious......
Li Chaiyuan threw down the cloth, clenched his fists with both hands, placed it under the table, raised his head, scanned the crowd, and spoke:
"Wherever you are now, everyone has great potential, even if you want to use you as a tool, you will have to wait until you are more mature and valuable in the future.
Killing chickens to get eggs, drying up the marshes and fishing, is what fools would do."
After saying these words, the discomfort in Li Chaiyuan's heart suddenly subsided a lot, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
Tan Wenbin, Runsheng and Yin Meng all laughed, and Lin Shuyou also let out gregarious laughter.
It is easy to hurt the morale of the army if he says such a thing, but it is not easy for Brother Xiaoyuan to say such a thing and be willing to give a reason to explain.
You can't let Brother Xiaoyuan tell you that you would rather take the risk of reducing your success rate than increase your survival rate.
If you really say this, Brother Xiaoyuan will go crazy in pain.
Li Chaiyuan regarded his partners as his own sand grass, and these grasses were actually familiar with the sand they surrounded.
"The dream ghost must be very powerful.
Luoxin Island Amusement Park is the home court chosen by that hand, and there must be more arrangements, such as powerful formations and treacherous feng shui patterns.
But we still have to take the initiative to throw ourselves into the trap, and we have to be fast.
We are now on fire, and we must seize the time to bring this flame to them, which is the only way we can have the confidence to fight it at present.
I would not naively think that after this matter is done, a family or sect with a deep foundation can be destroyed, and their level of existence is by no means so easy to say that it will be destroyed.
But at the very least, you have to make it hurt, let it howl, and let it break its arm to survive!
This is the first claw that secretly stretches out to us.
Only chop it hard,
to avoid more troubles that may arise in the future to the greatest extent."
After saying this, Li Chaiyuan took out a stack of Qingxin talismans from his pocket, and took off a pocket watch worn around his neck from his collar, along with the strap chain, and placed it on the talisman paper.
The pocket watch is new and not precious, it was taken in the store before and produced by the Jiangnan Watch Factory.
Finally, Li Chaiyuan reached out and touched the lustrous and transparent bone ring he was wearing on his fingertips.
"Tan Wenbin stays, everyone else goes upstairs and waits, and when Tan Wenbin comes out, the next one will come in."
……
The yellow pickup truck stopped outside early, Tan Wenbin sat in the driver's seat, and Lin Shuyou and Runsheng sat in the back carport.
Li Chaiyuan and Yin Meng walked out of the store.
Yin Meng raised her hand and covered her eyes: "Today's sunshine is so dazzling."
Li Chaiyuan: "Because we stayed in the basement for too long."
After getting into the car, Li Chaiyuan said to Tan Wenbin: "Drive slowly and pay attention to safety."
"Don't worry, I understand." Tan Wenbin started the car.
Destination, Luoxin Island Amusement Park.
The journey was not too far, but in order to prevent fatigue driving, Li Chaiyuan asked Yin Meng and Tan Wenbin to switch drives.
The amusement park is on an island in the middle of the lake, you can buy a ticket and take the cruise ship to land on the island, and of course, there is also a bridge where you can drive your car directly up.
At this end of the bridge, there was a security booth, and an old white-haired security guard was sitting there, holding a white porcelain jar teacup in his hand.
Seeing a car coming, the old security guard shouted: "The park is closed, it is not open today."
There is a bulletin board outside the security booth that reads: Facility maintenance is temporarily closed to the public.
Mainly because there have been several accidents in the amusement park recently.
Tan Wenbin poked his head out of the car window, stretched out his hand and patted the car door, and said: "Master, can't you see that we were sent here for maintenance."
"Oh, is it?"
The small yellow pickup truck looks like a construction truck, plus the two people sitting in the back, and they really look like good workers.
"Then go in."
The old security guard lifted the bar and motioned for a release.
Tan Wenbin stepped on the accelerator and drove in.
But soon, Tan Wenbin saw from the rearview mirror that the old security guard was waving and staggering after the car, still shouting something, that is, the wind outside the car window was a bit strong, and he couldn't hear clearly.
"Brother Xiaoyuan, that old man seems a bit weird, he can't stop."
"You go down and take a look."
"Hmm."
Tan Wenbin stopped the car, opened the door, and got out of the car.
Immediately, a heat wave that should not have occurred in this season came to the face, and with it, there was squinting sand.
"Tick!!"
A large truck drove quickly in front of him, raising sand and dust, and the scorching sun was in the sky, making people feel irritated in their hearts.
"Hey, don't run, don't run, school hasn't ended yet, Yasuko!"
Tan Wenbin turned around and saw the old school security guard chasing him behind him, and in the distance, was the gate of Shigang Middle School.
He felt a little dizzy, as if he hadn't slept well last night and studied until late at night.
Immediately, Tan Wenbin smiled.
How could he study late at night and read martial arts novels and comics all night.
Tan Wenbin scratched his head, he had just climbed out of the outer wall of the school, and as soon as he ran onto the road, he was almost hit by the bullish big truck, and he forgot the purpose of climbing over the wall.
Oh, I remember.
Damn, I have to go quickly!"
"Uncle, I'm not feeling well, so I went to the hospital to hang water!"
After saying that, Tan Wenbin ran wildly.
The old security guard gasped, supported his knees with his hands, looked at Tan Wenbin who ran away all of a sudden, and scolded:
"Xi Na Yasuko is a liar, he can still run so fast when he is sick."
Tan Wenbin ran all the way to the door of a billiards room, where several young men wearing black short-sleeved and tattoos were playing billiards.
Standing in the corner next to him was Zheng Haiyang who was crying, and there were many clear slap marks on Zheng Haiyang's face.
Zheng Haiyang's parents are seafarers and have a high income, Zheng Haiyang has a lot of pocket money on weekdays, but because his parents are away from his grandparents all year round, he gradually develops a cowardly character.
With a lot of money in his pocket and a soft temperament, he naturally became an excellent fat sheep for gangsters to extort.
Tan Wenbin thought he was sick, but other classmates told him that he saw Zheng Haiyang arrested by Lin Sanhou and others on the way to school.
"Fuck, I told you, Zheng Haiyang is covered by me!"
What came before this sentence was Tan Wenbin's flying kick.
There are three other parties, and I am the only one, so I will definitely kill one first.
"Bang!"
A flying kick hit a person in the waist and eye, kicking the man to the ground and unable to get up for a while.
Immediately afterwards, Tan Wenbin grabbed a pool cue and pulled it away with a "bang" in the face of another person.
"Bang!"
The guy let out a scream and fell to the ground covering his face.
The third person was on the opposite side of the billiard table, and when he saw this, he jumped on the billiard table and wanted to come over.
Tan Wenbin grabbed a billiard ball on the table and smashed it directly at the other party's second child.
"Snap!"
"Oh!!"
The man covered his crotch and jumped up on the table, and the billiards table was also dented.
Tan Wenbin took the opportunity to grab the other party's ankle and pull it down, causing the other party to fall on the table.
"Damn, tell you to bully people!"
Tan Wenbin grabbed the man's hair, raised his head, and hit the edge of the billiard table, hit, lift, hit, lift!
The other party's nosebleed immediately flowed out, and his mind also appeared a little dissipated.
At this moment, the two people who had been kicked down also got up and rushed towards Tan Wenbin.
Tan Wenbin let go of the one at hand, stepped forward, leaned his shoulder, hit the opponent's chest while grabbing the opponent's arm with his right hand, threw it back, and then pulled down and buckled, and then kicked his knee at the same time.
"You like to bully people, right? I told you to bully people!"
Tan Wenbin pressed his knee against the opponent's neck and faced the wall beside him.
"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"
The walls were already stained with blood.
The third gangster saw this and was so frightened that he began to tremble.
As Tan Wenbin raised his head and glared at him, he was so frightened that he didn't dare to step forward, so he ran away directly.
The master who bullies the weak and fears the hard often cowards the fastest when he encounters real stubble.
Tan Wenbin let go of his hand, and the guy fell directly forward and fainted.
Reaching out, he picked up a box of cigarettes from the pool table, pulled out one, lit it with the match next to him, and took a puff
"Hiss...... Huh~"
In the corner, Zheng Haiyang asked in surprise: "Brother Bin, when did you become so powerful?"
In the past, Brother Bin was also brave and dared to end up when protecting his classmates, but more often than not, they fought each other.
"Is it amazing?" Tan Wenbin looked at the unconscious gangsters on and off the stage with some doubts, "Yes, it seems that they have indeed become powerful, or have they become useless, so unbeaten?"
Tan Wenbin took another puff of smoke, and when he exhaled the smoke ring, he looked at the cigarette in his hand: Hey, when did smoking start to pass through the lungs?
In the past, he often looked at the mirror at home and combed his hair into an adult look.
He also bought cigarettes and pretended to be very chic, but after inhaling them, he would cough and retch, so he only inhaled them into his mouth and then spat them out every time, which was thicker and easier to spit out.
"Are you okay?" Tan Wenbin looked at Zheng Haiyang.
"I'm fine, Brother Bin, hehe."
Tan Wenbin stretched out his hand and touched Zheng Haiyang's face.
Zheng Haiyang was slapped the face, and after being touched at this time, he took a breath of coolness, but did not dodge.
Tan Wenbin touched and touched, and Zheng Haiyang was so painful that tears flowed out.
"Brother Bin......"
"Oh, it's okay, let's go back to school."
"Don't leave, my billiards table, lose money, lose money!"
The aunt in the billiard room came down from upstairs and screamed.
She tried to stop Tan Wenbin who was about to leave, and reached out to grab the boy's collar.
Tan Wenbin glared at her and deliberately took a step forward, this aunt somehow was so frightened that she retreated again and again.
"Find these two grandsons to lose money, I didn't break the table!"
Afterwards, Tan Wenbin left with Zheng Haiyang.
You have to climb over the wall when you leave school, but you just have to go through the gate directly when you enter the school, and the security guards will not stop students wearing school uniforms and pants from entering the school.
However, as soon as I came to the door of the classroom, I saw the monitor Zhou Yunyun walking out with his homework.
Tan Wenbin raised his eyebrows at Zhou Yunyun and praised: "Squad leader, you actually have an inexplicable sweetness today."
Zhou Yunyun's originally glazed face turned red, then lowered his head, rearranged it, glared at Tan Wenbin, and scolded: "Bah, a dog can't spit out ivory from its mouth!"
"You are pretty good-looking today, young, so good, alas."
Tan Wenbin sighed, even without knowing why.
"Tan Wenbin, if you keep talking nonsense, I'll report you to the teacher."
Tan Wenbin frowned. What had happened to him? He used to just enjoy arguing with the stern monitor and being a thorn in her side, but why was he saying such things today?
He even felt that his earlier words had been a bit too frivolous. If he got into a fight, his father would just whip him with a belt. If he harassed a female classmate, he'd probably hit him with a police car.
The thought of his own father made Tan Wenbin shudder.
Surrounding Zhou Yunyun, Tan Wenbin returned to the classroom.
Zheng Haiyang had returned first and had already told Tan Wenbin about his feat. The boys in the class cheered as he entered.
Tan Wenbin raised his left hand, his right hand covering his chest, signaling everyone to keep a low profile.
Then he climbed over the desk and took a seat in the first row by the window.
Turning his head, he noticed a classmate sitting at the table next to him. Curiously, Tan Wenbin asked, "Why are you sitting here?"
The student, confused by the question, replied, "This is my seat."
"Your seat?"
At that moment, a short female student, fresh from using the restroom during break, approached and timidly asked, "Why are you sitting in my seat?"
"Your seat?"
Tan Wenbin looked to the left of the podium. He saw the familiar desk, the familiar arrangement of books, and the familiar army of tin soldiers in the drawer.
He had indeed sat in the wrong seat.
Tan Wenbin stood up and left, returning to his throne.
Zhou Yunyun, returning from handing in homework, sneered as she passed by Tan Wenbin, "The homeroom teacher has already called your dad."
"Oh."
Tan Wenbin nodded, resting his chin on his hand as he began fiddling with his eraser.
For the rest of the class, Tan Wenbin barely listened, remaining lost in thought.
The teacher at the podium knew he was daydreaming, but there's always that small group of people in every class who, as long as they don't disrupt the classroom, don't bother doing anything.
The bell rang, and Tan Yunlong appeared at the classroom door.
Tan Wenbin looked at Tan Yunlong, walked over, pulled a cigarette from his pocket, and handed it to him.
"Dad, open your mouth."
Tan Yunlong's mouth twitched, then he laughed in anger.
The others behind him exclaimed.
"Come home with me."
"Oh."
His father's motorcycle had been speeding.
Today, the speed was even faster than usual, revealing an eager longing for family.
Zheng Fang, wearing an apron, opened the door and emerged from the kitchen. Seeing the father and son return, she asked, "What happened, son?"
Tan Yunlong said nothing, silently unbuckling his belt.
Zheng Fang stepped back.
The couple had given up hope for their son's academic performance, unless the top scorer in the college entrance exam could provide him with full-day tutoring. But how could that be possible?
Thus, their son's character was now their most important priority. He could do poorly in school, but he couldn't become a bad person and break the rules.
Tan Wenbin was led into the room by Tan Yunlong.
Zheng Fang returned to the kitchen and pushed the green peppers she had been about to cut off from the cutting board. She had originally intended to make stir-fried pork and green peppers, but she decided it wasn't necessary to have two identical dishes for the same meal.
The vegetables were ready, and the soup was simmering when there was a knock on the door.
Zheng Fang opened the door. It was Zheng Haiyang.
"Haiyang."
"Auntie."
"Wait a minute, Binbin's busy."
"Auntie, I came to tell Uncle about what happened today. Brother Bin came to help me."
"It doesn't seem like it was about that today." Zheng Fang observed her husband's expression upon his return. It must have been her precious son, besides his usual misbehavior, who had also added some new tricks. However, driven by maternal instinct, Zheng Fang still called out, "Binbin, Haiyang's here to play with you!"
"Ah! Ah! Ah!"
She was met with a series of screams.
But amidst these, there were also warm greetings for a good friend:
"Haiyang, there's an apple in the living room. Ah! Eat some first, and I'll play with you when I'm done. Ah!"
The father-son intimate activity ended.
Zheng Fang invited Haiyang to dinner.
Tan Wenbin, as usual, squatted and picked up his bowl and chopsticks.
Sitting down was absolutely forbidden.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
Tan Yunlong's pager on his waist buzzed. He glanced down and said, "Something's going on at the office."
Spooning a little soup into his bowl, Tan Yunlong quickly cleared it clean and left the house.
Tan Wenbin said, "Mom, look at my dad. He's always away from home. What do you want from him?"
Zheng Fang: "What do you mean?"
Tan Wenbin: "I support you in pursuing your own happiness."
Zheng Fang: "Are you expecting another beating? Your dad's just busy with work."
Tan Wenbin: "No matter how busy I am, I can't be away from my wife. I'll never do that again."
Zheng Fang glared at her son unhappily: "I hope you'll keep your promise to your future partner."
After dinner, Zheng Haiyang spent some time with Tan Wenbin at home before returning to school.
Tan Wenbin lay facedown on his bed, flipping through a novel. After a while, he threw it away and turned to a comic book. He felt bored after just a few pages and finally pulled out the pornographic magazines hidden under the bed. What used to be so exciting suddenly seemed dull.
This restless mood lasted all afternoon, and in the evening, there was a sharp knock on the door.
Zheng Fang had no work that afternoon and stayed home, so she went to open the door.
When the door opened, a sobbing voice rang out:
"Sister-in-law, Captain Tan is in trouble!"
...
Tan Yunlong has died.
Tan Wenbin stood blankly by the bed, where his father's body lay, declared dead after failed attempts to save him.
The fugitives, realizing they were surrounded, took hostages in a desperate attempt to save their lives. Tan Yunlong was shot by the fugitives' guns in an effort to save the hostages.
Tan Wenbin didn't dare remove the white cloth covering his father's body, fearing the horrific bullet hole.
The lingering pain in his buttocks made him wish his father would get up. He was still itching for more beatings.
After a moment of tenseness, his mother collapsed on the bedside, sobbing uncontrollably.
Tan Wenbin took a deep breath. He wanted to cry too, but he couldn't find the tears.
He could only go forward to comfort his mother, then wait for the station and town leaders to come visit, then approach them to inquire about matters related to the martyr's honor and funeral.
If the government were involved, it wouldn't be appropriate to overdo folk customs; it needed to be more solemn and simple.
My grandparents and maternal grandparents also came. My grandfather and maternal grandfather were relatively well, standing silently by the side, holding back tears. My grandmother and maternal grandmother hugged my mother and cried bitterly.
Time slipped by in a blur.
Tan Wenbin attended his father's funeral. Many of his father's former leaders and colleagues from the police station and the city came to pay their respects.
Tan Wenbin accompanied his mother, returning their greetings one by one.
During this period, his mother was too frail, so Tan Wenbin asked her to focus on accompanying her husband on his final journey, and he would take care of the formalities.
He arranged everything with impeccable efficiency.
The leaders of the Municipal Bureau warmly shook his hand, offering comfort and hope.
His grandfather and maternal grandfather stood beside him, silently yet powerfully accompanying him.
The handover of power between father and son is easily criticized by public opinion, but there is one exception.
Many classmates also attended the funeral, including Zheng Haiyang and Zhou Yunyun.
At the end of the funeral, Tan Wenbin took Tan Yunlong to the crematorium for cremation.
He was amazed. How could such a large man as his father fit into such a small box?
He carried the urn, got in the car, and headed home.
His father's portrait was displayed at home.
Tan Wenbin cooked some noodles and ate with Zheng Fang.
Zheng Fang: "Son, did you add salt? It's bland and tasteless."
Tan Wenbin: "I think it's just right. If you don't believe me, ask Dad..."
Zheng Fang and Tan Wenbin subconsciously glanced at the empty seat at the table. In a family of three, each person usually has a fixed seat at mealtime.
Following the empty seat, they saw the black-and-white portrait of the deceased.
Zheng Fang lowered her head, crying as she ate, tears falling into her bowl. No need to add salt now.
After dinner, Zheng Fang went back to her room to rest. Muffled sobs soon filled her ears, and she hid under the covers.
Tan Wenbin pulled out his cigarette case. Every time he smoked a cigarette, he lit one from the incense burner in front of the portrait.
He even cockily held his cigarette high in his mouth, deliberately provoking his father in the portrait.
But the provocations soon wore thin.
After all, his father couldn't emerge from the portrait and swat the cigarette out of his mouth.
The sobbing in the room gradually faded, and he knew his exhausted mother had finally fallen asleep, overcome by grief.
Tan Wenbin remained in the living room, shifting into a sitting position. He longed to take advantage of the quiet of the night to speak with his father again.
But after much thought, he found nothing to say.
He felt that he had failed as a son, with nothing to show for it that would make his father proud.
Finally, the rain, which had been lingering for so long, finally began to fall.
Tan Wenbin wiped his tears and said,
"Old Tan, all those extra points you earned for me on the college entrance exam are wasted. Your son is a loser. Even with the extra points, he still wouldn't have gotten into college. Sigh."
His head hit the edge of the table, and he drifted off into sleep.
Having drifted off, he thought he heard a "thump" from the room.
He immediately struggled to his feet, walked to his parents' bedroom door, knocked, and asked,
"Mom, are you okay, Mom?"
No response from inside.
He continued knocking and shouting, but still no response.
Tan Wenbin tried to open the door, only to find it locked from the inside.
"Mom! Mom! Mom!"
Tan Wenbin realized something was wrong and began banging on the door.
"Bang!"
The door was slammed open.
Tan Wenbin turned on the light and saw his mother lying on the ground, foaming at the mouth, next to an empty pesticide bottle.
"Mom!"
Tan Wenbin bent down and picked up his mother. He had to rush her to the hospital. If they got there in time, they could still make it. Absolutely.
As he moved, his foot kicked over the empty bottle, which hit the foot of the bed and then bounced back.
Tan Wenbin's gaze fell on the pesticide bottle label, and his eyes widened immediately.
He knew that even with prompt gastric lavage and treatment, if someone ingested this pesticide, they might recover for a few days, but ultimately, they would be beyond saving.
It gives you time to regret, but it doesn't give you a chance to live.
Tan Wenbin's body trembled, his face contorted, but he still managed to hold his mother. He woke up a neighbor with a motorcycle and begged them to drive him and his mother to the hospital.
Late at night, Tan Wenbin sat outside the hospital operating room.
The doctor had just left, hesitant to explain something.
He told the doctor he knew the outcome.
The doctor nodded, sighed helplessly, and left.
Tan Wenbin knew that when daybreak came, his mother would wake up, eat and laugh, hold him, and caress his face and head.
She might say she regretted her actions, that she would never commit suicide again, that she would stay with him until he grew up, that she would work, that she would marry, and that she would eventually raise his children.
These seemingly gentle words and expressions would soon become the sharpest sting that would sting him most painfully.
Tan Wenbin clutched his head, lowered his head, mouth wide open but silent, snot and tears dripping continuously.
A figure approached the corridor. It was Zheng Haiyang.
He sat down next to Tan Wenbin and patted her back gently.
"The doctor said the rescue was a success. Auntie will be fine."
Tan Wenbin turned to look at Zheng Haiyang.
Zheng Haiyang looked him in the eye and said, "Brother Bin, don't worry, no matter what happens, I'll be by your side."
Tan Wenbin shook his head and said, "I just figured something out."
Zheng Haiyang smiled. "It's good to figure it out. Everything will pass, really."
"My mom is very strong. She won't commit suicide. Now that my dad's gone, she'll take on the responsibility of being with me. She's been a police officer's wife for so many years, she's prepared."
Zheng Haiyang: "Even the strongest people can sometimes give up. Brother Bin, this isn't Auntie's fault."
Tan Wenbin: "Who put that bottle of pesticide in her room?"
Zheng Haiyang asked in surprise, "Brother Bin, do you suspect someone deliberately..."
Tan Wenbin leaned his face very close to Zheng Haiyang's, looking him in the eye, and asked:
"I "Besides calling a neighbor to send me off, you haven't told anyone about my mom's accident, not even my grandparents. Why did you show up so quickly?"
Zheng Haiyang was stunned for a moment, then retorted, "Brother Bin, are you doubting me?"
"Why not? Shouldn't I?"
Zheng Haiyang angrily said, "Brother Bin, how could you think of me like that?"
Then,
Zheng Haiyang's expression of grievance and anger shifted, with a perfectly smooth touch, into a playful, mocking tone:
"I put the pesticide there myself, and I even wrote a suicide note to Auntie, speaking as an uncle. Hahahaha!"
Tan Wenbin grabbed Zheng Haiyang's arm and shook it violently, "Why did you do this? Why?"
Zheng Haiyang's head began to sway back and forth under the violent shaking, and a tiny turtle had seemingly crawled onto his head.
The turtle's mouth and Zheng Haiyang's mouth opened simultaneously.
Laughing, they said,
"Because I'm feeling unbalanced. Why do you have your parents by your side, while I don't?"
